I'm writing a book about you. And about me, too.

If you're wondering how a book can be about you and me, there are two answers.
The first was once and wisely given by John Steinbeck: "If a story is not about the listener, he will not listen."
The second answer is life: "Those who write do so not to explain the world to others, but to themselves."
Ecco!

What else is the book about - apart from the two of us? You won't be very surprised: it's about Story. The working title is No Story. No Glory. and I wouldn't be surprised if this working title does what its peers usually do, namely come to stay.

No Story. No Glory. will be a non-fiction book, by the way, not a reference book, although the subject of marketing, communication and advertising naturally gets an important place.

No Story. No Glory. is about much more than that. Namely, the importance of story for us as human beings, as our tool for explaining the world.
It is about how we use story, how story benefits us or, for example, how we can lead with story.
Or about how we find our own story and why the lack of a story actually tears a hole in our humanity.
Why? Because story, in its powerful effect, is nothing other than a magnetic delivery form of meaning and values. In other words, the vital dose of soul vitamins ...

If you see No Story. No Glory. as a counter-manifesto to the storytelling buzzword bullshit that's being shuttled through every village, then this is the perfect reading material for you.

I'm already looking forward to the result and to finally having a satisfactory answer up my sleeve for the many story insiders who ask me about my book....
If all goes well, my grandmother, the old Storydudette will even make it onto the cover of my book. Or at least a close-up of the tattoo that adorns her bulging left bicep:
No Story. No Glory.
