#14 - with Andreas Salcher about the school system and why you have to protect students from it.

Andreas Salcher was a politician, is a management consultant, eight-time best-selling author and, above all, a critical spirit with an enthusiastic and inspiring commitment. In 2004, Andreas Salcher initiated the "Waldzell Meetings" at Melk Abbey, which have become an important meeting place for artists, religious leaders and scientists.

But he is also - and this is what he is best known for - a thought leader in education. In 1993, he co-founded the first Austrian school for the gifted, now one of the "Global Leading Edge Schools", and never tires of fighting for better education. One of Andreas Salcher's heartfelt projects is the "Curriculum Project", which he launched in 2008 to fight for better schools for all children. The goal is to narrow the gap between what children learn today and what they may actually need in the future. "The most important reason why we should take an honest look at our own talents is personal happiness. For a fulfilled life, we need to feel that our talents are valuable and recognised," Andreas Salcher says in this conversation and tells us much more about his story and his many transformations. We talk about the gifted student and his own enemies, about friendship, the whole of life in one day and his encounters with personalities like the Dalai Lama, Paulo Coelho or Isabel Allende, we talk about ... and ... and ... and ... and the time is, as always, too short.
